ABOUT

This little chestnut mare noticeable with her blond hair was a real eye-catcher and defied
all the prejudices! However her story began on the wrong foot and could even have
ended tragically. When she was still a youngster Nangaye de Kergane kicked the wall of
her stall and her hind leg went through it. She injured her fetlock and left noticeable
scars on it. For several years she had a swollen fetlock but she never showed any pain
or any restriction. For that reason her breeder decided he could start to free jump her.
That’s how he realized he has an extraordinary mare! If Louis Meunier used to breed her
fillies at the age of 2 years old he made an exception for this gem and decided to breed
her by embryo transfer. He made three replicates of the breeding : Nangaye x L’Arc de
Triomphe.

Then this Selle Francais mare met the rider who will soon change her life: Alexandra
Rantet. Back then Alexandra was starting to ride for Louis at “l’elevage de Kergane”
where she met Nangaye. The mare made her show debut under her saddle. Between
these two it is love at the first sight. Few months later, Alexandra decided to acquire half
of the mare. At 7 years old when potential buyers started to show serious interests, Louis
Meunier thought it was time for them to let her go... But Alexandra isn't on the same
page and is thinking it is still too soon to see their super star leaving the stable. With the
help of her parents-in-law, Alexandra bought the remaining shares to Louis. Alex and
Nangaye kept performing up to International Grand Prix level and won the 2* Grand Prix
in Challans then claimed the victory at 3*Grand Prix in Dinard! This had been their last
show together as it is time for Alexandra to say goodbye to her amazing mare. As a
consolation, the chestnut mare had given seven offsprings including four mares to
Cavalex. (All of them by embryo transfer.)

In the next step of her career, Nangaye joined Haras de Hus and was ridden by Kevin
Staut. Together they quickly found their way to perform. For their debut at 5* level
Nangaye and Kevin ranked 9th in Bordeaux Grand Prix. Together they also ranked 4th in
one of the big classes in 3* CSI in Neuchatel-Hardelot . They were particularly impressive
in the 5*CSIO Grand Prix in La Baule penalized by an unfortunate rail on the very last
jump. Sadly after only six months of a successful partnership, it is the end of this duo as
Kevin Staut and Haras de Hus had stopped their collaboration.

Edouard de Rotschild jumped on the opportunity and bought the beautiful chestnut. He
sent the mare to his rider Luciana Diniz who renamed her Lady Lindenhof. And again, the
mare showed consistent performances with so many placing at the most prestigious
venues in the world : Geneva, Doha, Bordeaux, Miami. But also Aachen where together
Nangaye and Luciana ranked 2nd in the “Prix de l’Europe” . Nangaye is now retiring at
Haras de Meautry.

In the meantime, Nangaye’s offsprings have started their career. Sangali de Kergane
(L’Arc de Triomphe) is touring on the French circuit while Souad de Kergane (L’Arc de
Triomphe) is ridden in junior classes and 2* under the Italian flag. Cold Paradise
Flamingo (Baloubet du Rouet) is pursuing his career on US soil.

The impressive qualities and her very classical style had made Unladylike (Campo Flamingo z) one of the most iconic offsprings from Nangaye. Unladylike competed up to
2* Grand Prix before an early end of her career due to a strangles episode diagnosed too
late. Airelle Flamingo (her full sister ) joined Penelope Leprevost’s stable and thus made
her debut at the best level of the sport. Then like her mother before her, she joined
Luciana Diniz with who she ranked 5th in Sharjah Grand Prix. It is just the beginning of
the love story between Nangaye’s products and the Portuguese rider as Geneva Flamingo
( grand daughter of Nangaye) had just moved in Luciana’s stable!
